H.W. “Salty” Roberts, who dedicated his life to racetrack chaplaincy and was the founder of the Race Track Chaplaincy of America, passed away this morning at the age of 85. Salty was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the FHBPA last year for his ministry work that was a positive influence not only to Florida racing but to race tracks worldwide. Salty is survived by his wife Dallas, four children, and grandchildren.
